Our mission
The Artificial Intelligence Lab at Bocconi brings together a multidisciplinary community of researchers working on the foundations, methods and applications of intelligent systems. The Lab combines expertise from computer science, statistical physics, statistics, economics, management, computational biology and the social sciences, with mathematics as a common language.
Our mission is to advance artificial intelligence through rigorous scientific research, cutting-edge algorithms and real-world applications. We aim to connect fundamental AI research with scalable solutions for businesses, institutions and society, leveraging high-performance computing, secure data collaboration and responsible innovation.
The Lab promotes an integrated approach to AI, where theoretical insights, computational tools and domain expertise converge to address complex problems. Particular attention is devoted to trustworthy, privacy-preserving and secure AI systems, as well as to the development of methods that are scientifically robust, ethically grounded and practically useful.
